Cannflavins are rare hemp flavonoids, chemically distinct from cannabinoids like CBD and THC. First identified in 1985, their potential remained largely in research because they could not be produced at meaningful scale. As polyphenols, they are part of a broader family of plant compounds studied for antioxidant activity and their role in oxidative and inflammatory balance.
